THU or SUN: In the morning, departure from Guatemala City to Chichicastenango. Upon arrival, visit the colorful open-air market and the Church of Santo Tomás. Here you will be able to witness ceremonial rituals carried out on the steps of the church, which is more than 400 years old (shorts and swimsuits are not permitted inside the church). Hundreds of indigenous people arrive from surrounding villages to sell and trade their products, setting up small stalls throughout the market.
FRI or MON: In the morning, departure to Lake Atitlán, one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. You will arrive in time to board a boat that will take you to San Juan La Laguna, one of the twelve villages surrounding the lake. The afternoon will be free for shopping or to explore Panajachel on your own.
SAT or TUE: In the morning, continue to Antigua, our former colonial capital, where you will visit the most interesting sites: churches, convents, monasteries, and other colonial landmarks. After lunch, departure to Guatemala City.
